I discovered ACO in October 2002 right after buying the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing.  Immediately I joined the forums in search of people to trade items with, and I succeeded!  After a while, the forums simply became a place to socialize and meet new people with whom I shared similar interests, and many strong friendships followed.

Josh, the webmaster of ACO, was being hosted at a site called e-zelda at the time.  They had many hosting problems, and eventually out of frustration and other personal obligations Josh shut the place down.  Saddened by the loss of the forums and the ability to talk to the people who I had gotten to know so well, I and other forum-goers sought to bring back the ACO Forums. Josh was at the time uninterested in trying to solve his hosting issues but mentioned that if I wanted to host a replacement forum, I could!  Both ecstatic and nervous at the thought, I set out to find us a new home.

After a brief attempt at an ezboard and then a short failed attempt with a free host, the site ended up here at perpetualchaosmachine.com.  Here we settled in, posted like mad, had good times and bad, it was just as it should be.

After about 6 months of hosting the forums Josh realized he actually missed his Animal Crossing site!  With more free time than he'd had before, he asked me if I would mind if he put the site back together on his own host.  How could I refuse?

Now ACO resides in it's permanent home at animalcrossingonline.com, awaiting the newest version of Animal Crossing soon to be released on the Nintendo DS.

After ACO was reborn, I decided to give this place a facelift and renamed it Animal Crossing Oasis.  There will be no further updates here.  For the latest Animal Crossing news be sure to head over to ACO!
